The Palombo Family Scholarship: Year 3!

I am so excited to announce some great news! The Palombo Family Scholarship will run for a third year!

Last year, we were proud to give out 2 scholarships totaling $6,000.00. Find out about all the winners here.

One of our winners, Samuel Calello, had this to say about winning:

Being rewarded with the Palombo Family Scholarship was a truly  amazing experience. The Palombo Family truly inspired me with their  strength and courage, which is why I was extremely honored to be  the recipient of their scholarship. The scholarship has helped me  tremendously with pursuing my degree in Mechanical Engineering  with a Concentration in Aerospace from the University of  Connecticut. Thanks to the scholarship, I have been able to explore  numerous opportunities in my field, such as attending lectures and  observing laboratory demonstrations. In addition to my studies I  applied to be a part of a mentoring program, where prospective  students are able to contact me directly, and I can answer any  questions that they may have about mechanical engineering, or engineering in general. I truly appreciate this outstanding opportunity.

We are looking to raise money for the scholarship this year. There are a number of ways in which you can support us!

1. If you did not purchase a book last year and would like one, please order one here

2. If you purchased a book last year and/or donated, please consider donating this year as well. Any amount will support our goal! Please send a donation to: The Palombo Family Scholarship, Ridgewood High School, 627 East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450

3. Spread the word, please! Let your friends, family, and colleagues know about this special scholarship!

Some information on Together...

Together is a short book written about Louisa's time spent with Jean Palombo prior to her death.  Jean lost her husband, Frank, a firefighter, on 9/11 during the attacks on the Twin Towers, and they leave behind 10 children.  The book mainly focuses on her thoughts on love, life, and loss.

All proceeds from book sales will go to The Palombo Family Scholarship that will be awarded to a graduating Ridgewood High School senior.
