About Louisa Luisi-Vilardi

Louisa Luisi Writer and Author

Louisa Luisi-Vilardi is a writer and theater director originally from Northern New Jersey.  She holds a B.S. in Education & English and a M.A. in English Education. Louisa has authored many plays that have been performed throughout the country.  Along with writing, Louisa is very involved in theatre arts and served as the Managing Director for New Players Company, the director of the NPC Playwriting Program for many years, and the Director of New Work Development for The New Deal Creative Arts Center in NY. 

Your Best Coaches, Louisa's debut children's book, was published in November 2012. Her last book published in November 2013, Together, was based on her sessions with Jean Palombo. 100% of proceeds for Together supported The Palombo Family Scholarship for a number of years. Louisa is also a contributor for The Huffington Post and Today Parenting Team. Her writing and photography have also been featured on Scary Mommy.

Louisa is a proud member of The Dramatists Guild of America and is currently developing Tough Love, a full length play, which recently premiered at The New Deal Creative Arts Center. She is also developing a series of Zoom plays including Gallery View. The Covid Confessions, which was featured on NBC News, was produced at The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck. 

Louisa taught English, creative writing, and acting at Ridgewood High School in New Jersey for over a decade, but traded in her grade book for diapers and now lives in New York with her husband and three sons.
